About
The Blog
This blog will feature two different countries that are part and parcel of my existence. This blog will talk about two different countries - with two different cultures… from two opposite sides of the world… with two different charm… and with two different meaning and significance to me - Maine and the Philippines.
Maine is the north-easternmost part of the United States and the biggest among the New England States. It has 4 kinds of seasons that are constantly unpredictable yet surprisingly amazing… erratic yet inevitably remarkable… chaotic yet unmistakably extraordinary. The different seasons of Maine highlight the unique characteristics of the country that is inimitably diverse and full of life. The four seasons of Maine underline the rich culture of the people who are warm, friendly and hospitable.
The changing seasons of Maine can bring to light a beautiful place with awesome verdant rolling hills, mountains and valleys of maple and pine trees. The changing seasons of Maine can paint its amazing landscape with a breath-taking red-orange-and-brown hue. The changing seasons of Maine can transform its beautiful and spectacular lakes, rivers and ponds into a winter paradise. The changing seasons of Maine can bring back to life the once snow-capped mountains into lush and green mountains again. And the changes go on and on giving Mainers reasons to enjoy life to the fullest.
This blog will feature everything about Maine… its changing seasons… its diverse culture… its amazing people… and its unique characteristics. This blog will give special accounts of my life here in Maine… my different experiences and struggles each changing season… my enculturation to the Maine way of life… my relationship with Mainers… and the many blessings yet to come.
The Pinay Blogger
I came from the Philippines… the Pearl of the Orient – a tropical country in the Pacific with 7,107 islands and only 2 changing seasons [wet and dry]. I was raised in this beautiful country of beautiful people… with rich culture and tradition… and blessed with unique and remarkable characteristics. A country with pride, dignity and faith in God. A country famous for its magnificent beaches and warm waters, lush flora and fauna and [un]predictable weather. A country of people with genuine hospitality and an amazing grasp of resiliency.
I am a teacher by profession but now a stay-at-home wife to a Mainer. I am a frustrated writer and my frustrations led me to blogging. I have 6 other blogs that keeps me busy and my sanity in tact.
Being away from home, I was able to appreciate more, the country where I was born and will always call it “home”. Now that I am here in Maine, I am appreciating this new country that I now call “home”.
